The Sing-Off returned for an hour show on Thursday, which saw four of the eight remaining a cappella teams compete for spots in the final six. Ten, AcoUstiKats, Street Corner Renaissance and The Filharmonic were all on deck.

Following a group performance of Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes,” the groups kicked off the “Number One Hits”-themed night.

Sing-Off Recap: TEN, 'Chain of Fools'

First up was TEN, the group that formed just fairly recently. Coached by Shawn Stockman, they took on Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools” and did an incredible job. The judges noted that while they started off towards the bottom, the way that they’re coming together is making them a contender.

AcoUstiKats, ‘Amazed’

University of Kentucky a cappella group AcoUstiKats went for a different vibe on Thursday than they’ve delivered in the past. From “Blurred Lines” to “Amazing” by Lonestar, the group showed their versatility – especially their leading vocalist Ross. Jewel said the group “found their heart.” After the judges’ compliments but before they left the stage, one of the singers brought his girlfriend up for a proposal.

Street Corner Renaissance, 'Forget You'

Street Corner Renaissance churned out another charming performance with Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You.” Dressed in pink blazers with black leather lapels and fedoras, the soulful group was buoyed by Tony on lead vocals and Maurice’s wailing.

The Filharmonics, “One More Night”

Ever-energetic, The Filharmonics performed an exciting take on Maroon 5’s “One More Night.” Outfitted in shirts, jackets and pants that spanned the color wheel, the guys got on top of the song from the very beginning, which featured a complicated arrangement from Shawn. Ben Folds felt like something was missing, and Jewel added that it could have been that he wanted more “sexy anger.”

The judges ended up putting Street Corner Renaissance and The Filharmonics in the bottom two. Battling through Steam’s “Na Na Hey Kiss Him Goodbye,” neither group emerged as the clear winner or loser. The judges ultimately decided to keep the younger guys around, meaning it’s the end of the road for Street Corner Renaissance.
